WESTON DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES MAJOR CONTRACT WITH BOEING AUSTRALIA
Weston Digital Technologies today announced that Boeing Australia chooses WESTON DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES as team member for the supply of their voice and data recording and replay solutions for the Australian national air defence system.
The Commonwealth of Australia awarded Boeing Australia a major contract to supply the Australia Defence Force with command and control centres for Australia's new air defence network. Boeing chose the high-tech British company Weston Digital Technologies a major innovator in the field of mission-critical voice and data recording solutions for the project known as VIGILARE.
Vigilare is an integrated air defence Command and Control (C2) system that combines information in near real-time from platforms and sensors to support tactical and strategic level surveillance operations and battle-space management in air and joint domains.
Vigilare is the core of the RAAF's air defence surveillance network and it provides them with an enhanced battlespace management capability to support operations and the training of Air Combat Officers and Air Surveillance Operators in ground and airborne environments.
Vigilare combines data from a range of Australian Defence Force (ADF) platforms and sensors. The ‘live' inputs from these assets are correlated at two Regional Operations Centres (ROCs) equipped with operator consoles and equipment to form a recognised wide area surveillance picture, which is distributed to national C2 centres.
Additionally, Vigilare can be linked to the RAAF's mobile air defence system, known as the Mobile Region Operations Centre, to provide surveillance data and communications when deployed in the field or in garrison.
The RAAF will take delivery of the Vigilare system as it is rolled out across Australia in 2009-10 at the two ROCs: NORTHROC at RAAF Base Tindal, Northern Territory, and EASTROC, RAAF Base Williamtown, New South Wales, in Australia.
Richard Martin, Sales Director of Weston Digital Technologies, expressed his thanks to Boeing for recognising the expertise that the company has for the successful design and integration of complex mission critical applications and for making Weston Digital Technologies an approved partner
